English

Hi friends,
portratno, I’m not going to translate the whole friggin’ blog into English, I just don’t have the time for that. So if you accidently stumbled over this blog, because you’ve seen my name in Usenet or you googled your own publication or whatever and have been directed here, just some fast information: My name is Dirk van den Boom, I’m a professional SF-author and translator from Germany and this in my author’s blog – but not only about novels I’ve published, but also about everything else concerning genre-related issues: Book reviews, con-reports, some general observations in regard to SF and writing, occasional silly comments and things like that. Nothing special, but possibly entertaining, if you understand some German.

Definitely entertaining, if you use a babelfish-software for translation, irrespective of the content.

I write mostly Military Science Fiction and Space Operas  (like my series about the ‚Tentacle War‘) and alternative history (like my series about the ‚Emperor’s Menr‘, by now eleven novels published, an English version is available). But I’m open to suggestions, especially if accompanied by advances…

I do also publish occasionally in the German SF-magazine „phantastisch!“ and I’m co-editor of Germany’s foremost info-website on SF and Fantasy, http://www.phantastik-news.de.

Aside from that I’m working in migration policy for an NGO, I’m professor for political science and have met my wife in Nigeria, where I wrote my PhD-thesis.
